Updates to the Pieces Copilot: Pieces Web Extension 2.8.1

Have you tried chatting with Pieces Copilot on the web yet? It’s a game-changing experience for any developer who encounters code online. You can access all of the capabilities of Pieces Copilot in the Pieces Desktop App, now from the Pieces Web Extension!

Our favorite way to use the Pieces Copilot is in the side panel of your browser. From there, you can easily chat with the Copilot while still viewing a webpage, and it’s incredibly easy to copy and paste code from the web into the Copilot chat.

Beside Pieces Copilot on the web, this release also includes some stability updates, bug fixes, UI updates, and updates to our code block discovery algorithms, so you don’t miss a single code block anywhere you go 🙌

Some of the issues addressed in this release:

• Sticks side panel to main browser window, instead of individual tabs.
• Fixes missing indentation issue on snippets captured by extension.
• Fixes language not being detected issue for snippets captured through the ask-copilot action.
• Discovered snippets in the extension's home page are now updated as you switch between tabs, making it even easier for you to quickly go through snippets discovered across sites.
• UI updates to Pieces Copilot chat window.

In future releases, you’ll be able to adjust your copilot runtime, access past copilot chats, and more! We’re incredibly excited about this new feature in the Pieces Web Extension. Let us know how you like it.
