Persistent Copilot Chats Land in JupyterLab: Pieces for Developers JupyterLab 1.8.0

The Pieces for Developers JupyterLab Extension is growing more popular every day! We’re excited to bring even more of our popular features to JupyterLab users. Today, we’re launching persistent chats with Pieces Copilot. Try it out and let us know what you’d like to see next!

Persistent Pieces Copilot Chats

Persistent Pieces Copilot conversations are now available in Pieces for Developers JupyterLab! Thanks to our shared Pieces Copilot dependency, this functionality is shared among our integrations.

When you update to this version, your previous conversations with the Pieces Copilot will be available to reference and continue. To view them, click on the “open left panel” icon.

To start a new chat, click on ‘new chat’ in the bottom left of the chat window, or simply start chatting with an empty conversation.

Click the 3 dots icon on a conversation to perform any of these actions:

• View generated summaries for each conversation by clicking on the sticky note
• Generate a summary by clicking on the sparkles
• Delete conversations by clicking on the trash can
• Pin a conversation by clicking on the pin
• Edit conversation titles by clicking on the pencil

Pieces Copilot Context Selector

Similar to the Pieces Copilot experience throughout the Pieces Suite, you can now set specific context for your copilot chats. Context can be files, folders, snippets, and more!

To set your conversation’s context, hit the “Manage Context” at the bottom of your chat.
