Contextually Scoped Copilot Sessions for every Saved Snippet and Screenshot with qGPT and RAG

The Pieces Copilot, powered by qGPT, is already a huge part of many developers’ workflows. It’s incredibly useful to have technical conversations so close to your workflow— With Pieces for Developers 2.2.0 and Pieces OS 5.1.1, we’re bringing it even closer.

With the new snippet-specific Pieces Copilot, you can ask technical questions and gain context about a single snippet. To take advantage of this hyper-specific copilot, hit “Launch Copilot” when you’re focused on a snippet.

You’ll be able to ask questions and perform transformations on your snippets, as well as save code responses with a single-click. When you launch the snippet-specific Copilot, Pieces will provide some suggested questions so that you can learn more about your saved code.

Auto-Associated Related People

Wouldn’t it be nice to know who might be able to give you more information about a snippet without asking your entire team? With auto-generated related people, you have a head start. When you create a snippet, Pieces will now automatically associate Related People with that snippet, enhancing collaboration and making it super simple to ask a quick question.

qGPT Advancements

qGPT powers all of our Pieces Copilot interactions. Today’s release includes some mega upgrades to our qGPT models to ensure that your chats are as fast and accurate as possible. qGPT has also been upgraded to handle snippet-specific Copilot events and provide suggested Copilot prompts.

Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

This release also includes a number of bug fixes and performance improvements, including a fix that prevents rapidly auto-saved duplicate snippets.
